It was a gorgeous day to see all manor of cars and trucks on display at the Brackley Drive-In theatre. Over two decades have elapsed since I last attended a show and shine car show. There were a common site when I lived in Arizona where desert weather ensures old cars don’t rust and spontaneous show and shines are commonplace. In Canada, harsh winters and road salt ensure cars have a shorter lifespan and we only have a few months available for car shows.
I’m especially fond of vintage cars restored to their original specifications. The owners of these cars did a great job of refurbishing classic vehicles. Seeing these classic American cars take me back to being a kid in ’60 and ’70s. They also remind me of my departed father who was fond of buying big boxy cars from Ford, GM and Dodge. I love the esthetic of these old machines and someday I hope to own a fully restored vintage car. But that’s a few years away.
