Tracadie Bay, PEI

Yesterday was a beautiful spring day and I rode out to Tracadie Bay on the shores of our cottages.  Although these photos are not meant to have any artistic merit, they hopefully give one a sense of the natural beauty of this warm and shallow bay.  One can often spot bald eagles and ospreys flying overhead.  I spotted only one eagle and he was quite far away when I took a crappy photo.  I waited a while to spot other birds and naturally, as soon as I put away my camera, an osprey dove into the water and caught a fish.

The first group of photos were taken at Tracadie Harbour.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I could not walk on the harbour itself, but with a long lens I was able to capture the fishing huts as well as the famous sand dunes.  During the summer one can buy lobster right off the boats for a price that is far below market value.

The second group of photos were taken on the beach, which is a very short walk from our cottages.  Locals dig up clams for their supper and I intend to do the same this summer.
