Day two of our PEI staycation took us to the central part of the island and then to the north shore where we overnighted in one of our cottages.
Our first stop was the Fisherman’s Church in Kensington. It is identified by memorial statue to Canada’s WWI soldiers. Across the street from the Fishermans Church is another building that was once a church and a Land and Sea Museum. These days it appears to be closed and I don’t know what it is used for.
Then we took a leisurely drive to Darnley where I took some photos around the harbour and the Basinview Seafood Market. We also spotted an old abandoned house which was fodder for some interesting photos and speculation as to why it was left to rot.
Our final destination was Blooming Point, which is a popular beach, fishing location and hiking trail. I heard about Blooming Point from the locals and as it turns out, it is very close to our cottages on Tracadie Bay. After a nice dinner in Charlottetown, we settled down for a quiet evening at “The Crow’s Nest” which is the largest of Tracadie Cottages.
