This was our first trip on an airplane since the pandemic.  Normally Melissa and I vacation in Cuba during the winter, however, this time we choose Mexico.  Because of food shortages in Cuba, not to mention we could get a better deal in Cancun, we choose a five star resort: the Royalton Riviera.  The trip was all inclusive and the resort food was quite good actually.  The rooms were clean, well appointed and the beds very comfortable.  We were also pleased to see hot tubs on the balcony and in the room.  We got a superb ocean view as well.  Everything there is modern and corporate, so until you leave the resort, you don’t feel like you are in Mexico.  Later during the week, I made two excursions off the resort and we also spent a day in downtown Cancun.  Then and only then do you really feel you are in a foreign country.
